I've always found that the best way to get into something and truly understand it, then I should find something I like and read about it. This blog post will be a little different than usual because today we will just be discussing some amazing books that I have found helpful throughout my witchy wanderings.

I hope that you can find something off this list that intrigues you!

Where Do I Start?

So, you've decided to delve into the world of witchcraft but you are clueless of where to even begin.

That's totally okay!

I'm here to help, as are several other resources.

Did you know that Barnes and Noble has an ENTIRE section in their bookstores dedicated to witchcraft and magick? Well, that's actually one of the first places I started. I have always loved reading and Barnes and Noble has always been a place that I adore going to and searching through the stacks is basically my workout for the day.

Another great place to start is Amazon. If you aren't able to scour a Barnes and Noble, this is a great online resource to get books delivered right to your doorstep quickly.

If you are lucky enough to have a witchy or occult store near you, that's another great place to start and the people who work there are most likely more than happy to get you started on your own witchy wanderings!

Books of The Craft

All book listed have a link provided where you can get more information on the book and also purchase the book if you are interested. I have also provided a brief overview of each book that is also provided by the purchasing sites.

"This book has everything a teen Witch could want and need between two covers: a magickal cookbook, encyclopedia, dictionary, and grimoire. It relates specifically to today's young adults and their concerns, yet is grounded in the magickal work of centuries past."

"Writer, fashion alchemist and modern witch, Gabriela Herstik, unlocks the ancient art of witchcraft so that you can find a brand of magick that works for you."

"In this book, third generation hereditary witch Lisa Lister explains the history behind witchcraft, why identifying as a healer in past centuries led women to be burned at the stake, and why the witch is reawakening in women across the world today."

"A Book of Shadows is a journal that witches keep close at hand for jotting down their spells—and this beautiful keepsake edition, by the authors of Wiccapedia, is the perfect accompaniment to that popular guide for modern witches."

"Having a hard time tapping into the light? Find illumination, resiliency, self-care, and inner magic with Light Magic for Dark Times--an inspired, accessible, and modern collection of practices, rituals, and spells. You'll power up your inner witch, map your road toward healing and regeneration, find your creativity, and explore your shadow side."

"From an acclaimed author on witchcraft, an easy-to-use, informative introduction to Wicca."

"Tap into the magic all around you with  Witchcraft, an illustrated guide to ancient potions, spells, chants, rituals, and incantations from around the world."

"Witchcraft and Wicca for a modern world, from YouTube vlogger and Instagram sensation Harmony Nice."

"This provocative book invites you to create your own spiritual path based on often-suppressed ancient principles and contemporary practices. Using the elements (earth, water, fire, air, ether) rather than traditional patriarchal hierarchies, this “holy book” is designed to connect each individual to their universal — but often denied — powers."

"In this book, third-generation Witch Juliet Diaz guides you on a journey to connect with the Magick within you. She explains how to cast off what doesn't serve you, unleash your authentic self, and become an embodiment of your truth. You'll also learn the skills and techniques you need to build your own Magickal craft."

"This book contains over 100 spells, a list of runes, how they can be used in spell casting and even crafting your own spells."

There are A LOT of resources out there and these books are just some of my favourites.

Be sure to peruse the witchy section next time you're book browsing to find something that's perfect for you!
