There are so many different types of tea! And for me, it's one of my most important ways to channel myself along with my wants and needs. Some of my favourite teas are when I use them for cleansing or slumber and dreams.
Tea is magickal and it is also a practical. Each tea makes for a different taste and a different need so here I will share some of my favourites!
Types of Tea
Black Tea:
Black tea is the most fermented and also the most processed of all teas. The tea leaves appear to be shriveled and are black in colour. Black Tea is related to the winter season. Magickwise, this is a feminine tea with an affinity to earth. It typically has a richer, more earthier taste than other types of tea. Some of its known natures include it being a tea of strength and stability or endings and closing. Because of this, it is a very good for expelling and removing unwanted or negative energies.
Green Tea:
Green tea is less processed and aged than Black Tea. This is part of the reason that it is known as a youthful tea. Green Tea has many varieties which have helped to inspire many cultures. It has a well known history in magickal history. This specific type of tea is considered to be a masculine tea with an affinity to fire and is known as a tea of summer. Green Tea is a tea of physical healing and is great for the conscious mind, passion in magic, positive energy, and love. It is also a tea associated with progress and moving forward.
Oolong Tea:
Oolong is when tea is no longer considered to be a youthful tea and is typically processed enough that it is beginning to ferment. It is often used duringvthe autumn season. Oolong is considered to be a feminine tea with an affinity to water. Oolong Tea is used to help aid in meditation, wisdom, and concentration and is known to be a very calming and soothing tea.
White Tea:
White tea is the least processed of the tea types because it is picked when the leaves are still young buds, but because it can only be picked during this stage in its life, it is quite rare. It is picked during an early phase while it is still growing so it is often associated with the spring season. It is considered to be a masculine tea with an affinity to the air and it also has the strongest connection to the moon. White Tea is very pure which makes it a wonderful tea in aiding a witch in purification and protection. It is related to clarity, realization, meditation, cleansing, and connection to the Goddess or spirits and is a tea of new beginnings.

Magical Teas for Sleep & Dreams
Do you possibly suffer from trouble sleeping? If so, you could drink a cup of tea to help relieve stress and also soothe yourself to sleep.
Some of the base teas for aiding in sleep include Chamomile, Lavender, White, Lemon Balm, Valerian, Passion Flower, Skullcap, and Jasmine.
Is sleep not your problem? Do you want to promote vivid dreams and astral travel? One way to aid in there is drinking tea before bed. Many witches have used herbal teas to increase psychic dreams and premonitions.
Teas that help to increase dreaming abilities include Mugwort, Wormwood, Rosemary, Damiana, Peppermint, Chamomile, and Rose.
The reasoning behind the use of Mugwort and Wormwood are quite well known in the witchy world. Mugwort helps to enhance lucid dreaming and one's abilities in astral projection. Wormwood is used to connect the drinker with the spirit world. With Wormwood, it can sometimes cause the user to experience vivid visions so be sure to use in moderation and with caution.
Teas For Cleansing Aura
From time to time, you may need a pick me up. The best way to get that so-deserved moment can happen with the help of tea. If auras are not cleansed, one can start to feel weighed down, low on energy, and also low on life.
Some teas to guide you in cleansing include Pomegranate, Peppermint, Tie Guan Yin, Jasmine, Sage, Rosemary, and especially Blueberry tea which can be best used on a night where a Full Moon is occurring for powerful cleansing effects. Another well known perk is the antioxidants in Blueberry tea.
